Returns & Refunds

Cards are bought sealed and sold sealed, and both of those facts shape what can come back. Here is exactly what is returnable, how long you have, who pays the shipping, and the one thing we will never take back.

The short version: 30 days from delivery to start a return on sealed, graded or unopened accessory items. Email us first and wait for a return authorization reference before you ship anything. Refund to your original payment method within 5 business days of the return arriving and passing inspection. If the mistake is ours, we pay the freight and you choose refund or replacement.

What you can return within 30 days

You have 30 days from delivery to start a return on any of the following. Starting it means telling us inside that window, not getting the parcel back to us inside it.

  • Sealed product — booster boxes, packs, cases, Elite Trainer Boxes, decks, Warhammer boxed sets — with the factory seal intact and the outer packaging undamaged. Shrink-wrap off means the return is off; see below.
  • Graded slabs in the original holder, uncracked, with the cert number matching the one on your invoice. We check the cert number on the way out and again on the way back in, and it has to be the same slab.
  • Accessories — sleeves, deck boxes, binders, playmats, storage — unopened and in their original packaging. Dragon Shield packs have a factory seal; once it is broken the pack is opened stock.

Warhammer paints and miniatures follow the accessory rule: unopened, in the original packaging, seals intact. A sprue that has been clipped or a paint pot that has been opened cannot go back on the shelf.

How to start a return

Email storeprcards@gmail.com with your order number and what you want to send back. We reply with a return authorization reference and the return address.

Do not ship anything back before you have that reference. This is the part worth reading twice. An unreferenced parcel arrives at our bench with no order attached to it, and matching it by hand to one of thousands of orders is slow, which means your refund is slow. A referenced parcel gets opened, checked and processed the day it lands.

Packing a return:

  • Put the item in an outer box. The product packaging is not the shipping box — a sealed booster box sent back with a label stuck straight onto it arrives with crushed corners, and crushed corners are damage after delivery.
  • Write the return authorization reference on the outside and put it in the box as well.
  • Use tracked shipping and send us the tracking number. Returns worth $500 or more must go back tracked, signed for and insured for the full value — the same rule we ship them out under.
  • Slabs travel in a rigid box with the holder immobilized. A slab that arrives cracked because it was posted in a mailer is a damaged return.

Once it is moving we can start work before it lands. If the tracking has not updated for 5 business days, email us and we will chase the carrier rather than wait for you to.

Who pays the return shipping

Reason for the return Who pays return shipping
Wrong item sent We pay — prepaid label provided
Damaged in transit We pay — prepaid label provided
Not as described We pay — prepaid label provided
Changed your mind Deducted from the refund at the label’s actual cost

There is no restocking fee in any of these cases. We do not charge a handling fee, an inspection fee or an administration fee either. The only money that ever comes out of a refund is the actual cost of the change-of-mind label, at what the carrier charged, and we will tell you what that is.

On outbound shipping: shipping here is free and tracked on every United States order, with no minimum, so on a normal order there is no outbound shipping charge sitting in your total to give back. Where an order does carry a paid shipping charge, that charge is refunded when the return is our fault, and it is not refunded on a change of mind.

How and when you get your money back

Refunds go to the original payment method, always. Not store credit, not a gift card, unless you ask us for one of those instead.

We issue the refund within 5 business days of the return arriving and passing inspection. Inspection is a real step, not a delay tactic: we check the seal, the packaging condition and, on a slab, the cert number. Then your bank takes another 3–10 business days to post it. That second stretch is outside our control and outside our sight — if the refund confirmation has reached you and the money has not, the answer is with the card issuer.

Pull rates, variance, and why an opened box cannot come back

This is the most important section on the page, so it is written plainly.

A box that produced fewer or lower-value hits than you hoped is not a defective box. The odds printed by the manufacturer are odds. One box is a sample of one, and variance is not a flaw in the product — variance is the product. We cannot accept a return on opened product for that reason, and no legitimate seller can.

Here is the other half of that rule, and it is the reason it is worth accepting. Nothing reached the box before you did. We never weigh, search, open or re-wrap sealed product. Boxes arrive from distribution and leave for you in the same state. The firmness of the rule above is what makes this one true: a seller who takes opened boxes back has opened boxes in stock, and opened boxes in stock is how searched product enters a supply chain.

If a sealed box has a genuine manufacturer fault — a mis-collated pack, a short pack count, print damage inside a sealed wrapper, the wrong set inside the right wrapper — that is not variance and it is not covered by this section. Email us with photographs. See faulty or misdescribed below.

What we cannot take back

  • Opened sealed product. Once a box, pack, case or Elite Trainer Box is opened it cannot be sold as sealed, and we will not sell it as sealed. There is no version of this we can bend.
  • Raw singles removed from protective packaging, where the condition we graded and described can no longer be verified.
  • Graded slabs that have been cracked, re-holdered or re-submitted. Once the original holder is gone, the item you are returning is not the item we sold.
  • Returns we first hear about more than 30 days after delivery, and parcels shipped back without a return authorization reference.
  • Items damaged after delivery — bent corners, water damage, crushed boxes, pets, moving vans.
  • Opened accessories, opened paints and started miniature kits.

The first three are absolute. The rest have edges. If you think your situation sits on one of those edges, write to us and describe it rather than assuming the answer — we would rather read the email than lose a customer to a rule that was not aimed at them.

Damaged in transit, or the wrong item arrived

Photograph the outer carton before you unpack any further, then photograph the product. The carton is the evidence, and once it is flattened and in the recycling the claim gets much harder for both of us.

Email storeprcards@gmail.com within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and those photographs. You choose: a replacement or a full refund. Not us. The return label is on us either way, and there is nothing for you to pay at any point in it.

If the carton looks wrong on the doorstep — crushed, soaked, opened and retaped — photograph it before you take it inside.

Faulty or misdescribed

If what arrived is not what the listing said it was — wrong set, wrong configuration, wrong grade on a slab, a cert number that does not match, packaging damage we did not disclose — you get a full refund or a replacement, including shipping both ways, regardless of the 30-day window.

Condition and grade are described from the item in hand, not from stock photography, and a slab's cert number is legible on the label in its listing photograph — ask and we will confirm it in writing — so you can verify it with the grader before you buy. If we got a description wrong, that is ours to fix on our money, and the 30 days do not enter into it.

Cancelling an order

Anything that has not yet shipped can be cancelled for a full refund. Email storeprcards@gmail.com with your order number and the word cancel.

Be quick. Orders placed before 3:00 PM ET go out the same business day, so the cancellation window on a weekday morning order can be a couple of hours. Once it has a tracking number it has left, and it becomes a return under the rules above rather than a cancellation.

Exchanges

We do not process direct swaps. Return the item for a refund and place a new order for what you actually wanted.

That is deliberate. An exchange leaves you waiting on two shipments to cross in opposite directions, with the replacement held hostage to a return that is still in a truck somewhere. A refund and a fresh order gets the new item moving immediately and settles the old one separately. Single-copy items — slabs, most singles — are another reason: we cannot hold one against a return that has not arrived.

If your order never arrives

Tracking that says delivered when nothing is on your doorstep is a real problem and we treat it as one. Tell us within 7 days of the delivery scan and we will open a carrier trace. The full terms, including what happens when a parcel simply stops moving, are in the Shipping Policy.

Before you file a chargeback

Please email us first. A chargeback on a delivered high-value order takes months to resolve, and neither side gets anything out of the wait: you hold neither the cards nor the money while it runs, and we spend it answering document requests from a bank.

There is very little we cannot settle in an afternoon by email. Wrong item, damaged box, a slab whose cert does not match, a refund that has not landed: all of those have an answer today. Write to storeprcards@gmail.com and give us the chance to give it.

Your legal rights

Nothing on this page reduces your rights under the consumer protection law of the state you live in. Where this policy is more generous than the law, this policy applies. Where the law is more generous than this policy, the law applies. If you think we have got something wrong and we cannot settle it between us, your state Attorney General, or the Federal Trade Commission will hear it — but ask us first, because we would rather fix it than be reported for not fixing it.
